Porsche 356 early Solex 40 PICB restoration

(EN) Early 356 Solex carburettors suffer from the same wear as the later 356 and 912 Solex carburettors. The butterfly shaft wears in the soft housing and causes the butterflies to start wearing a groove in the body. Custom bronze bushings are made for the shaft and and are pressed into the body. The butterfly bore is milled to an oversize and custom oversize butterflies are machined. After these repairs the carburettors are better than when they left the Solex factory.
